Eriez® has expanded its well-known B-series of heavy-duty electromagnetic vibratory feeders with four new high-capacity models in the B-HC line. With capacities ranging from 70% to 100% higher than previous models, these feeders cover the industry’s widest capacity range—capable of dispensing controlled amounts from just a few pounds up to 1,200 tons (1,089 metric tons) per hour for bulk materials, based on a sand density of 100 lb/cu. ft (1.6 metric tons/cu. meter).
The B-HC models feature a state-of-the-art electromagnetic drive system that uses a rare earth permanent magnetic armature assembly. Boasting nearly 70% to 100% greater capacity than previous models, these feeders offer the widest capacity range in the industry, capable of delivering controlled amounts from just a few pounds to 1,200 tons (1,089 metric tons) of bulk material per hour (based on sand at 100 lb/cu. ft (1.6 metric tons/cu. meter).
The innovative B-HC electromagnetic drive provides power in both forward and reverse directions, achieving superior linearity and control compared to traditional systems. The coil-and-magnet assembly is fully sealed in epoxy to prevent dust and moisture infiltration, reduce coil movement, and extend operational lifespan.
Eriez B-HC feeders have a compact, energy-efficient AC control system that offers precise variable-speed control with accelerometer feedback. This design eliminates the need for sliding or rotating parts, reducing power usage and maintenance needs, which translates to higher profitability and productivity.
The B-HC feeders are ideal for head-load applications under hoppers and excel in metering bulk materials onto belt conveyors, screens, crushers, and elevators. They are available with standard or custom-engineered trays that can include additional features such as dust covers, screens, grizzlies, and optional abrasion-resistant steel or UHMW liners for added durability.
For flexibility in installation, B-HC feeders support both base and suspended mounting options, with under-mount or overhead drive configurations available. The new Eriez 65B-HC feeder is already proving its value with early adopters, including Washington Mills, a top producer of abrasive grains. Washington Mills previously operated their feeder at full capacity to meet feed demands, but the 65B-HC now delivers the required feed rate with capacity to spare.
